True Colors

Hallöchen,

verdammt... eigentlich wollte ich dieses Jahr doch mehr Comic zeichnen?! So richtig klappt das aber noch nicht. Immerhin einen kleinen Comic habe ich bisher fertigstellen können :) meinen Beitrag für den Gramic Award (http://www.gramic.de/) zum Thema "Toleranz".
Leider habe ich keinen Preis gewonnen, aber ich freue mich total, dass mein Beitrag zumindest bei der Ausstellung dabei sein wird. Die Gramic Award Ausstellung wird im Rahmen des Comicfests vom 29.5. bis zum 2.6. in der Markuskirche in München zu sehen sein.

Damn... Didn't I actually want to draw more comics this year?! This doesn't work very well so far. At leat did I finish one small Comic :) My entry for the Gramic Award (http://www.gramic.de/) with the subject "tolernace".  
I sadly didn't win a price, but I'm really happy, that my comic story will at least be part of the exhibition. The Gramic Award exhibition will be shown from Mai 29th till June 2nd in the Markus-Church in Munich.

Hier ein kleiner Einblick (vielleicht lade ich den Beitrag auch bald ganz hoch, ich bin mir noch nicht sicher, was ich damit noch machen will). / Here a small sneak peek (maybe I'll upload the whole comic soon, I'm junst not sure yet, what I want to do with it in the future):

Nachdem ich schon ein paar Mal wollte, es aber bisher nicht geschafft habe, habe ich nun endlich mal beim Plakatwettbewerb des Gratis Comic Tags mitgemacht :)
Es hat extrem viel Spaß gemacht, daran zu arbeiten. Bitte drückt mir die Daumen :D

Because I always wanted to participate but I never did so far, is this my firsts entry for the poster competition of the free comic book day here in Germany :)
It was so much fun to work on it. Please cross your fingers for me :D

Anfang März ist ein kleines Projekt erschienen, das ich beim dtv bearbeiten durfte. Für "Das große Osterbuch" habe ich kleine Vektor-Vignetten illustrieren dürfen und da die thematisch dieses Tage ganz hervorragend passen, hier ein paar Impressionen:

Scarf-Mania

Huhu :D

die ersten Boten des Frühlings sind zu spühren. Höchste Zeit, euch mal zu zeigen, womit ich mir den Winter vertrieben habe: Mit Schals häkeln! ;D Da ich jeden Tag zwischen München und Augsburg hin und her pendel, hatte ich massig Zeit zum häkeln. Ein paar der Schals sind bereits als Weihnachtsgeschenke in andere Hände übergegangen, den Rest hab ich jetzt endlich mal fotografiert.

You can finally feel, that spring is coming. Time to show you, what I was busy with during the winter: with crocheting scarfs! ;D I had plenty of time to crochet because I had to take the train between Munich and Augsburg every day. I couple of scarfs already left me again to become chrismas presents, I finally took pictures of the rest today.

Mein Liebling. Ich trage ihn fast jeden Tag. Aus schön flauschiger Alpakawolle *schmus*
My favorite. I wear it almost every day. Made from fluffy alpaca wool *fluff*



Dieser hier war wirklich eine Heidenarbeit. Leider ein bisschen kurz geworden aber schön warm.
This one was really a lot of work. Sadly a bit short but still very nice and warm.

Eine der Gewinnerinnen meines Facebook-Giveaways, Mina (Olivia Viehweg), hat spontan zu ihrem Comickalender noch ein Bildchen dazugelegt bekommen :) Minako Aino aus Sailor Moon, weil es ihr absoluter Lieblingscharacter ever ist ♥ ach... diese Nostalgie ;)

One of the winners of my Facebook giveaway, Mina (Olivia Viehweg), got spontaneously a little picture in the package with her comic calendar :) Minako Aino from Sailor Moon because she is her most favorite character ever ♥ sigh... the nostalgia ;)

Neben der Arbeit nehme ich immer noch ein paar kleine Aufträge an :) Für Sandras Blog http://dailykawaii.bplaced.net/ mache ich bereits seit einiger Zeit alle Grafiken. Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, als sie mich gebeten hat, ihr ein neues, ganz frühlingshaftes Banner zu illustrieren (Für Fischflagge, Bär und Fujisan hatte ich selbstverständlich Referenzen). ♥

 I still take a couple of small commissions beside work :) For Sandra's blog http://dailykawaii.bplaced.net/ did I already create all the graphics some time ago. I was really happy, when she asked me, to create a brand new, very spring like header for her (I had references for the fish flag, the bear and the Fujisan, of course). ♥

Einfach mal eine kleine Illustration nebenbei :) Ich wünsche euch alle einen frohen Valentienstag :D Von dem Feiertag selbst halte ich zwar nicht so viel, aber ab und an einfach mal die Liebe feiern, halte ich für eine gute Idee ;) 2013 ist ja auch das chinesische Jahr der Schlange, daher zeigt die Illustration Susu und XuXian aus der "Legende der weißen Schlange" (jedoch mal ganz unkonventionell von mir in die Neuzeit verlegt).Just a little illustration :)

I wish all of you a happy valentine's day. I don't think much of this holiday, but I think, it's not wrong at all to celebrate love once in a while ;) 2013 is also the chinese year of the snake, that's why my illustartion shows SuSu and XuXian from "the Legend of the White Snake" (interpreted in an a bit more contemporary way from me).

Nun zur Illustration / now the Illustration:

Erstmal eine Skizze (die Bank ist gnadenlos abgezeichnet) / First a sketch (the bank is copied):

Dann das Lineart / Then the lineart:

Mit Pastellkreiden lege ich eine Grundstimmung fest (schön kitschig) / I define a basic mood with pastel chalks (nice kitsch):

Dann werden die Figuren mit Copics und Buntstiften ausgearbeitet / Then I work on the characters with color pencils and copic markers:

Interessieren euch eigentlich solche Zwischenschritte? Bei anderen Künstlern sehe ich sie mir total gerne an. Wie ist es mit euch?

By the way, are you actually interested in drawing steps like this? I like to look at them from other artists a lot. What do you think about it?
