2 days in Berlin with Edding & DaWanda

Ich war in Berlin! Weil ich was gewonnen habe! Und es war einfach toll!
Aber ich sollte besser von vorne anfangen, oder?

I've been to Berlin! Because I won something! And it was really amazing!
But I should start at the beginning, shouldn't I?

- Erstens: Am Wochenende vom 12. auf den 13. Oktober wollte ich eh gen Norden nach Leipzig fahren zum 24h-Comictag.
- Zweitens: DaWanda hat ein Gewinnspiel veranstaltet, bei dem man eine Teilnahme am edding-Kreativworkshop und eine Übernachtung in Berlin am Donnerstag davor gewinnen konnte.
- Dritten: Ich habe beim Gewinnspiel mitgemacht.
- Viertens: Ich habe einen Platz gewonnen *kleiner Freudentanz*

- First: I wanted to travel north at the weekend of the 12th and 13th October anyway beacuse I wanted to participate at the 24h-comicday in Leipzig.
- Second: DaWanda organized a lottery where you could win a place in the edding creative workshop and a night in a hotel in Berlin on the Thursday before it.
- Third: I participated in this lottery.
- Forth: I won a place *happy dance*

Also habe ich mich am 10.10. in aller Früh auf den Weg nach Berlin gemacht :) Als ich dann um 13:00 Uhr in Berlin ankam ging es gleich weiter zum Hotel (so ein schöne Hotel und so ein tolles Zimmer *__*), einchecken und dann sofort weiter zur DaWanda Snuggery... kann ich da bitte wohnen? Die Snuggery ist wirklich einer der schönsten Läden, in denen ich je war. Schade, dass Berlin so weit weg ist.

So I travelled to Berlin in the early morning of the 10th October :) I arrived at 1 PM, checked in at the hotel (what a great hotel and what a pretty room *__*) and hurried to the DaWanda Suggery... can I please live there? The Snuggery is relally one of the prettiest store I've ever been. It's sad, that Berlin is so far away.



Der Workshop selbst war unter anderem eine interessante und umfangreiche Einführung in die Produktpalette von edding. Toll geleitet wurde er von der Kalligrafin Birgit Nass, die uns 5 Stunden lang schreiben, zeichnen, schneiden und kleben ließ. Vor allem mit den tollen, kreativen Menschen um mich herum hat das unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht auch wenn ich irgendwann so müde war, dass ich nicht mehr alles aufnehmen konnte. Vielen Dank nochmal an DaWanda und edding für die gemütlichen, kreativen Stunden in der Snuggery :D

The workshop itself was a very intersting introduction to the products made by edding. The workshop was led by the calligraphist Birgit Nass, who let us write, draw, cut and glue for 5 hours. It was a great fun, especially because of all the cool creative people around me although I sadly got very tiered after a few hours so I couldn't concentate very well. Thanks a lot to DaWanda and edding for the comfy, creative hours in the Snuggery :D

Und natürlich auch vielen Dank für die vielen Stifte und das Spray, das jeder bekommen hat. Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, sie alle zu benutzten // and of course also a big thanks for the pens and the spray all of us got. I can't wait to use them all.


Die vielen tollen Bekanntschaften konnte ich dann beim Abendessen und dann beim Frühstück am nächsten Morgen noch vertiefen unter anderem mit Maria von villa♥stoff, Karin von haiglück, Ji-Yun von 2nd chance, Natascha und Pauline.

I did spend more great time during dinner and breakfast the next moring with my fun new aquaintances like Maria of villa♥stoff, Karin of haiglück, Ji-Yun of 2nd chance, Natascha an Pauline.

Den zweiten Tag in Berlin habe ich dann alleine verbracht, knapp 5 Stunden davon in der wunderbaren Ausstellung und zwischen der genialen Architektur des Jüdischen Museums und den Rest des Tages in Kreuzberg in Bücher-, Comic-, Künstlerbedarfs- und Second-Hand-Läden.

The second day in Berlin did I spend alone, around 5 hours of it in the wonderful exhibitions and architecture of the jewish museum and the rest of the day in Kreuzberg in book-, comic-, arts+crafts- and second-hand-stores.



Tatsächlich mochte ich an diesen zwei Tagen Berlin zum ersten Mal ;P
Hoffentlich komme ich bald wieder hin.

I actually really loved Berlin for the first time ;P
I hope, I'll be back soon.

Nerdy stitching :)

Scarf-Mania

Huhu :D

die ersten Boten des Frühlings sind zu spühren. Höchste Zeit, euch mal zu zeigen, womit ich mir den Winter vertrieben habe: Mit Schals häkeln! ;D Da ich jeden Tag zwischen München und Augsburg hin und her pendel, hatte ich massig Zeit zum häkeln. Ein paar der Schals sind bereits als Weihnachtsgeschenke in andere Hände übergegangen, den Rest hab ich jetzt endlich mal fotografiert.

You can finally feel, that spring is coming. Time to show you, what I was busy with during the winter: with crocheting scarfs! ;D I had plenty of time to crochet because I had to take the train between Munich and Augsburg every day. I couple of scarfs already left me again to become chrismas presents, I finally took pictures of the rest today.

Dieser hier war wirklich eine Heidenarbeit. Leider ein bisschen kurz geworden aber schön warm.
This one was really a lot of work. Sadly a bit short but still very nice and warm.

Halloween 2012

Hi everybody :)

endlich kann ich meine Halloween-Sachen für dieses Jahr hier hochladen. Ich war gestern bei meinen lieben Freunden Sarah und Peter auf ihre Halloweenparty eingeladen und habe ein bisschen was dafür kreiert :D

DaWanda-Shop

Huhu :)

Nur ein kurzer Post, um zu zeigen, dass ich diesen Blog nicht vergesen habe. Die letzten Woche habe ich an einer Homepage für mich gearbeitet. Leider ist sie immer noch nicht ganz fertig, aber ich bin auf der Zielgeraden. Blöderweise hat mein treuer alter Laptop vor ein paar Tagen, mit all meinen Grafikprogrammen darauf, das Zeitliche gesegnet. Ersatz ist bereit bestellt, aber es wird wohl noch ein paar Tage dauern, bis ich wieder richtig loslegen kann.

Just a short post to show you, that I didn't forget this blog. I worked on a homepage for myself over the last week. Sadly it's still not completely done yet, but I'm almost finished. Also my lovely old Notebook died a couple of days ago with all my graphic design-programs on it. I already ordered a new one but it will take another couple of day till I can work properly again.

Heute poste ich, um euch auf meinen überarbeiteten DaWanda-Shop hinzuweisen :) schaut doch mal vorbei. Ich habe dort ein paar von mir gebastelte und handgemachte Kleinigkeiten zum Verkauf angeboten.

Buttons LOVE

I'm back with something old(er - not that old actually, a few weeks) :D BUTTONS <3

I totally love buttons, and as we had an exhibition coming and my lovely flatmate Yi (please visit her at http://heydudepp.tumblr.com/) has a button machine, I made some with her help :3!

The fun thing is, every button is an original so I created around 60 different tiny illustrations.

Pop Up Card, Giraffe & Meat

Hi :O

No posts again for quite a while :( The "inner pig" also seems to sleept... Lots of things happend over the last weeks. I needed some time to get myself together again.

I'm still not really OK yet but here I am again, nevertheless :)

The first thing, I want to show you, is the birthday card, I did for my beloved sister's birthday <3 For the first time, I tried to do a Pop Up card. It took really long, although the mechanism is so simple...
It turned out a little bit tacky, but I still like it :)







And as this post is already very random, here is something I did quite a while ago but never knew when to post it:




Crappy photo is crappy :( sadly, it's the only one I have, because this giraffe is glued on the wall of a flat I don't live in ;) I think I will redraw it when I find the time.

And last but not least something very different. This is a picture I did for an exhibition with the topic "Meat"! It's nothing big, but I enjoyed to draw it *laughs*

Bologna Children's Book Fair

Wow... what a busy week :O

From last Sunday till Tuesday night, I've been in Bologna (Italy) with my friend Yi to visit the international Children's Book Fair. It was so amazing and exhausting *laughs* I took a portfolio with me but I was too shy to show it to the publishers *fail* But I took a lot of inspiration with me and I will be better prepared and come again.

Of course I forgot my business cards at home so Yi and I we decided to handdraw some :)

All of them were taken in an hour so I don't have any left, but I took pictures with my camera so I can show you, what I drew!

My first Quilt

Yay :)

I think, I already talked about it in my last post, but the reason why I didn't update for such a long time was not me being lazy ;) A really big (maybe the biggest I ever done) crafting project kept me busy!

Today was my mum's birthday so I can finally show it to you: My first Quilt *____*//

I used to sew a lot when I was a teenager but I didn't do much the last few years in this direction. Online I stumbled over a nice crafting community where I saw some stunning quilting projects and I thought, I can do this, too. My mum's birthday was the right reason to get finally started!

I wanted to make something really special for her because the first three months of the year haven't been nice to her. There's a mosaique pattern on the floor of the house where she used to live most of her live. I took it as an inspiration for my pattern.


In Illustrator I created a pattern as the guildeline for my work!



I made it much lighter then the oroginal one, because I wanted the final blanket to fit my mum's couch in the living room.

Sadly, I didn't take pictures of the working progress, but maybe that's better *laughs* I really can't remember how many hours I spend on this thing. I occupied the whole flat, my flatmates couldn't even walk through the hall or eat in the kitchen *laughs* sorry guys ;P

But with a little bit help of my friend Julia I finished in time. I am so proud of the result although you can see, that it has a lot of flaws because I don't have so much sewing and crafting experience. Nevertheless, this won't be my last quilting project :D

Amigurumi Cupcake Bear!

Just a little something because I felt like crocheting :) I started with this amigurumi cupcake tutorial which I can really recommend for beginners because of the good pictures and tutoring. But I chose the wrong yarn for the upper part so I had to make some major changes in the pattern. I saw some really cute pictures of cupcake bears and decided, that I also want to do one *laughs*

My little critter looks a little bit more like a flat bear burger but he still turned out adorable XD I like hideous things ;P



I'm not so sure yet if I should continue crocheting amigurumi... it's a lot of fun but it's very time consuming and I don't know what to do with the final work. I can't give all of them to my boyfriend as presents *laughs*
